Netflix - A Discontent

Netflix - A Discontent

Netflix stock price dropped more than 20% today. A few days ago, Netflix raised its price in the US; now (my) 4K plan is $20 per month. It is the most expensive subscription fee for the video streaming service that I'm using. Yes, Netflix has excellent content and usability that justifies its price tag - I totally agree that. And... I don't have any Netflix stock, so I don't have any issue with it. But I regret one thing about Netflix: the lack of Korean subtitles.

Actually, there are plenty of Korean subtitle-available shows on Netflix. The problem is many are not accessible from the US. We can see the Korean subtitle or voice only in a fraction of Netflix originals in the US - even they are available in Korea.

Netflix has excellent nonfictions deal complicated social/political issues that I want to share with my family. But the terms are still too complicated for my daughter and even me. I believe it is not a technical issue: it should be a license or business issue. It shouldn't be an issue for Korean; other languages should have similar issues. Please, Netflix, do some better, take care of it. Just open already available languages globally. Even in rough quality is better than nothing. As a global content provider, I believe you can make the world a better place.
