Yogurting Re 0.9.0: Skills Find Their Targets

Share

In my last Yogurting Re update, I wrote that the biggest remaining gap was targeting. Skill effects played on the character because there was nowhere else for them to go. Version 0.9.0, released on August 30, 2026, closes that gap with target dummies and skill flight paths.

The avatar tool now has a Target row in the Skills dock. It can place an opposite-gender avatar or any monster from the list 2.5 meters in front of the character. Skills aimed at a target now land properly: avatars flinch, monsters play their own hit animation before returning to idle, and target-anchored effects attach to the dummy's bones.

Projectile skills can also follow all 77 authored flight paths. Their effect models travel along the original spline from the caster to the target, including the authored timing and easing, then hold their final pose at the destination. Without a target, they continue straight out from the character.

The camera now pulls back and centers itself between the character and target so both remain visible. Clearing the target restores the original avatar-only framing.

Flight paths connected to particle-effect tracks still depend on the future particle system. For now, flight paths play on effect-model tracks.
